Frequently Asked Questions About Headshots For Individuals Executives Business Corporate Teams

First Impressions Shape Trust

Professional headshot photographer ROBERT BERGER and owner of Innovative Images Photography in Houston stated “As a professional photographer, I’ve seen firsthand how important it is to make an authentic first impression. Trust is built on authentic first impressions. When deception is used, trust breaks quickly. When clients come to me for headshots and portraits, my goal is always to capture them honestly and naturally. I coach my clients to enhance their posture, bring out their best expressions, and use portrait lighting techniques that are flattering and used by the most skilled professional photographers for the last 100 years. Expressions are never altered. The headshots that I create are the true personality and representation of each individual. There’s no greater mistake than trying to misrepresent who you really are. If an Ai generated image is deceptive from the start, will that deception be overlooked or maybe cost a new job offer, client or new relationship? People appreciate genuineness. My advice for anyone wanting photos that will truly represent them and make great first impressions is simple: be yourself and hire an experienced professional headshot photographer to bring out your best.”
What do professional headshot and portrait photographers have in common with stand up comedians?

I find this question intriguing as well as a having a high correlation.

Being a professional photographer in Houston for 38 years, I have photographed and interacted with thousands of individuals. My 5 star rating and over 150 online reviews indicates that my clients are very satisfied with my work. Having the personal confidence and experience in my ability to create an outstanding professional headshot or portrait for every person that I photograph is imperative for a successful photo-shoot. Whether a client is a celebrity, billionaire, fortune 500 CEO, movie star, athlete, chef, or an individual who wants to elevate their career with an impressive headshot, it requires a photographer to have confidence in their ability as well as being unafraid to try new ideas when a unique look is required, leads to a very positive outcome for my clients! Selecting a highly experienced professional photographer for your headshot or team brand image is important.
How Much Do Headshots Cost?

Professional headshot photographer ROBERT BERGER and owner of Innovative Images Photography in Houston stated” Headshots sessions are customized to the needs of my clients but the most popular is the STANDARD HEADSHOT SESSION $275 plus tax and includes ONE favorite retouched image( all images on the website are retouched examples). This image can be used on Linkedin, websites, business cards and post card size brochures. If you need several images for building your brand, a DELUXE HEADSHOT SESSION is available.
Are AI Generated Headshots Good?

Professional headshot photographer ROBERT BERGER and owner of Innovative Images Photography in Houston stated “Making a dishonest first impression can seriously backfire. When you misrepresent yourself from the start, it almost always damages relationships, reputations and success down the line. Using AI or artificial intelligence for headshots just by the name is an algorithmically altered representation of a person. Each of us has our own unique look. We don’t all look the same. How can a computer algo be applied to all our unique features? I have 38 years of professional photographer experience so I perform customized artwork for each headshot selected in a natural flattering way.”
Will An Artificially Created Image Of Yourself Gain Trust?

Professional headshot photographer ROBERT BERGER and owner of Innovative Images Photography in Houston stated” Representing your true self from the very first interaction builds trust. An Ai generated headshot in my opinion adds too much manipulation and fakeness. More often than not, whenever we are dedicated, hard working, and put forth effort, people notice. Hiring an experienced professional headshot photographer is an investment in yourself for your future. It requires time, money and effort but the reward is standing out as a trustworthy, dedicated professional who rises above the crowd.”
What Should I Wear For My Headshot?

My suggestion for headshot wardrobe are: Stick to solids, subtle patterns and muted colors that complement your features. Avoid bold stripes, busy patterns or loud colors that distract. Select outfits that represent your personal or professional brand identity. So if you’re a real estate agent going for friendly and approachable, wear casual business attire. For corporate headshots, choose sleek business suits or dresses. Make sure your clothes are pressed and shoes shined. Skip flashy accessories. Style your hair off your face and apply natural makeup. Looking polished yet like your true self will come through beautifully in your headshots!

How Do I Choose The Best Professional Headshot From My Photo-Shoot?
I Never Like Pictures Of Myself- Any Ideas?

Actually this is one of the most asked questions!

A lot of people feel uncomfortable or awkward having their photo taken. As a professional photographer, it’s my job to help you look and feel your best. Here are a few tips I’d suggest:

First, I work with you ahead of time to understand what you like and don’t like about having your photo taken. That allows me to craft a comfortable, low-pressure shoot that focuses on your good angles and expressions.

Second, I use simple, clean backgrounds and flattering lighting so the focus stays on you. I also coach you through different poses and expressions so you see yourself looking polished and confident.

Finally, I take lots of shots so we have options to choose from. With some guidance on selecting the photos you like best, you’ll end up with headshots that capture you at your very best.
How much retouching do you do on the photos?

I personally retouch the image(s), you select from your headshot photo session. All the images throughout my website are examples of my retouching. Retouching a headshot properly is an art in itself. The key is for an individual to look natural (polished) and realistic. It’s differs from filters that make an individual look completely different that are used for entertainment like on Snapchat. Professional retouching lightly softens skin, wrinkles, slight teeth whitening and reduce stray hair. My aim is enhancing natural beauty, not overdoing it!
What if I don't like my smile or look awkward?

Not to worry! I help you select your best image(s) while you are at my studio. I guarantee you will select image(s) that you really like. I specialize in coaching smiles, poses, and expressions so you look polished, relaxed and feel confident during the shoot. I want you looking back at photos thinking “Wow, that’s really me at my best!”
Do you shoot on location or just in studio?
Should I do my own hair and makeup?

I do recommend wearing basic makeup and having your hair/facial hair professionally styled if possible for best results. I recommend using your regular hairstylist since that individual is familiar with your style and preferences. Since your final headshot is retouched basic makeup is fine. If you want a more glamorous look, I can provide recommendations once you reserve your professional headshot session.
What makes your headshots unique compared to other photographers?

My personalized approach to lighting, posing, expression coaching, and guiding clients through the entire process results in headshots that authentically convey personality while looking polished and professional. I take the time to understand your individual brand and goals, and draw out your natural confidence and magnetism in-session. The images we create together will capture the essence of who you are. My 38 plus years of specialized headshot experience ensure photos you will absolutely love.

Don’t just listen to us. Here are what people say about us.

Exactly What I Wanted

Robert was very knowledgeable and professional. When I initially scheduled, he told me “you’ll have fun”, I didn’t believe him but I actually did. He made sure I got exactly what I wanted and gave me time to try out different looks to give me options. I was nervous waiting on the print job, but when I received it I was so happy with the finished work. I already recommended him to my colleagues, but will definitely recommend him to more people.

I was seeking executive shots for work with detailed specifications to follow. As a professional, it was imperative to exude best look and best energy. He even advised of colors best suited. Nonetheless, the shoot went well & am very happy with results. Thank you Rob for your patience and professionalism.

Award-winning portrait photographer Robert Berger says “A camera is like any tool, just as paints and brushes are to an artistic painter. Rembrandt, Picasso, used the same tools as all artists that paint. Their unique creative vision and masterful use of their tools set them apart from their peers. Photography isn’t an exception. Creative vision, knowledge, flattering posing, lighting, and interpersonal interaction with subjects are key to creating outstanding photographic artwork.” Robert asks inquisitively “Who wouldn’t want to be remembered?” His motto is “Stunning portrait photography created with expert craftsmanship and experience, preserves the present for the future! His studio is known for professional headshots, corporate group photography, photo restoration, passport photos, visa photos, family and pet photography. Robert was super easy and a joy to work with for my passport renewal for India! I had to unfortunately reschedule due to health issues and he was really accommodating and understanding. When we found a time, the process was super direct and straightforward - I was in and out in like 20 minutes! I even had to get extra copies a few weeks after, and he was super helpful and got them ready within 24 hours. I could not recommend his services enough if you are looking for someone professional, kind, and attentive to details to ensure your pictures are up to the necessary specs and processed quickly. Thanks again, Robert!

I was looking for somewhere to have professional passport photos taken after I got a terrible one from Walgreens and came across Robert’s studio. Robert was so warm and friendly and made the whole experience very relaxing and stress free. The whole process took less than 30 minutes and I had my photos in hand. Best passport photo I’ve ever had for sure—absolutely no comparison! Thank you Robert!
